I stumbled upon MS Kagan's writing with the Dietrich series. No matter which book of hers I read I am reminded of her skill and I am happy she started writing even though she was in her late50's,This book is a chick lit endeavor. I am a man that generally stays away from that genre. When I saw this fine author had a new series out, I simply had to read it My message.to all who reads this review is READ ALL OF HER BOOKS, They are simply that good. Dagna does not like Jews, and is always a trouble maker. Anna's family is wealthy, the other girls come from poor families and Elica's mother is Anna's family's maid. I believe God put a love for all of this in my heart. Though I know these books are fiction, I think they are authentic to the time. I thoroughly enjoy them, and highly recommend them to anyone. I give thought to wondering if I had lived then would I have been brave enough to help Jewish people. I certainly hope I would have.
