#1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn presents the first novel of the delightful Bridgerton Prequel series in a stunning new package. There were Bridgertons before the eight alphabetically named siblings, and in this novel, we go back to where it all began. . .Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected of places...This is not one of those times.Everyone expects Billie Bridgerton to marry one of the Rokesby brothers. The two families have been neighbors for centuries, and as a child the tomboyish Billie ran wild with Edward and Andrew. Either one would make a perfect husband... someday.Sometimes you fall in love with exactly the person you think you should...Or not. There is only one Rokesby Billie absolutely cannot tolerate, and that is George. He may be the eldest and heir to the earldom, but he’s arrogant, annoying, and she’s absolutely certain he detests her. Which is perfectly convenient, as she can’t stand the sight of him, either. But sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor...Because when Billie and George are quite literally thrown together, a whole new sort of sparks begins to fly. And when these lifelong adversaries finally kiss, they just might discover that the one person they can’t abide is the one person they can’t live without...

Viscount Kennard George,Rokesby had a thorn on his side and it was Sybilla Bridgerton aka Billie . She was best of friends with his siblings Andrew Mary and Edward. She always got herself injured or in mischief and brought his siblings with her. One afternoon changes it all for them both and it started with mean cat who needed rescue to her needing rescue and none other then George appear. With witty banter and mischief these two find out they are just what the other needs . No one you can not go wrong when you start on a Quinn book. Then you realize you are at the end of the book and ready for the next. Always a happy ending. Just love her set of books. PDF Because of MIss Bridgerton: A Bridgerton Prequel (Bridgerton Prequel, 1) kindle pdf As always Ms Quinn delivers on witty banter and strong family ties. As a prequel it helped to establish the Bridgerton paternal line but I had hoped for more character development. Overall looking forward to more of this prequel series. ePUB Because of MIss Bridgerton: A Bridgerton Prequel (Bridgerton Prequel, 1) scarica ora My two favorite romance relationship archetypes, in historical romance and all others types, are the couple who start out with a shared animosity and gradually discover what they love about one another (the classic Pride and Prejudice romance) and the couple who have known each or been friends for a long time and need to find their way to changing the nature of the relationship. Because of Miss Bridgerton is a lovely blending of those. It initially seems hard to reconcile the two: why, if they have know and disliked each other for so long, would they suddenly fall in love? This story show how little twists of circumstance are the answer to that question. The relationship between Billie and George progresses in a way that feels very natural because we are given context for how they have perceived each other previously, and they are placed in increasingly intimate situations and conversations that allow them to gradually understand one another better. I really enjoyed that this is not a story in which the characters change a great deal or have huge revelations about who they are or how they should live their lives, which is common in romances where there is initially a great deal of dislike between the couple. If anything, Billie and George both become more comfortable and certain about who they are and that they are truly living the lives they wish to be living. It's quite sweet to have a story where the people don't need to change who they are to be in love (even though the characters always change for the better in stories where that is the case); this story is far more about two people getting to know one another. Even though they've know each other their entire lives, Billie and George finally come to understand each other.Slight spoiler: I also liked that there was nothing beyond kissing (albeit very intense kissing) until very near the end of the story. I always find the placement of sex scenes in a romance, and particularly the placement of the very first sex scene, to be of interest, and the wait for this one was rather unusual but felt appropriate.Moving on from larger plot observations, it must be said that Julia Quinn's writing is wonderfully funny. I'm a relative newbie to the world of historical romance (only several months in, though I have devoured a pretty massive number of them in that time frame), so even though Julia Quinn was the first writer whose works I read en masse, it's only been a few months since I read one of her works, but coming back to her writing now, I'm realizing that I have missed the constant comedy of her writing. Of course, many writers include a great deal of humor in their historical romances, but Julia Quinn has a true talent for it. I will say that sometimes the humor can feel unrealistic (there was a whispered fart joke at the dinner table in this book, which, even between very close old friends, I have trouble buying for a dinner party in Georgian England), but I certainly won't object to it--stretching the bounds of what would have actually been appropriate at the time is half the fun of modern historical romance. In addition to her humor, Julia Quinn also has a major talent for series. You can tell that she must be a fan of reading series herself because she is so good at writing series, writing spin-off series, and including details and names that tie series together. For anyone who's wondering, the connection between this book and the original Bridgerton series is that Billing Bridgerton is the aunt of the main Brigertons of the original series; their father is Billie's younger brother, Edmund, who is off at Eton during this story. One of the fun details of this story is the inclusion of a Pall Mall game, which is presented as a Bridgerton tradition in the original series, and we see the original naming of the later infamous "Mallet of Death." There were also a few name-drops of titles and surnames that readers of Quinn's other novels may recognize--presumably the fathers of her later heroes.Overall, I loved the book. I'm excitedly anticipating further books in the series; it looks like Edward, the eldest of George's brothers, who was discussed throughout this book but not actually introduced, is going to have his romance next. And I'm very much looking forward to the story of Andrew, the next brother, whose humor and surprising thread of steel were laced through George and Billie's story. PDF Downloads Because of MIss Bridgerton: A Bridgerton Prequel (Bridgerton Prequel, 1) Sybilla (Billie) Bridgerton has lived next door to the Rokesby family all her life. Mary has always been her best friend and she has played with Edward and Andrew since they were small. It has always been assumed (especially by Billie) she would marry either Edward or Andrew. George is the Rokesby heir. He never played with the children – he was too mature. George and Billie have spent their lives verbally sparring with one another. Now that they are grown, things have remained just the same. Now Andrew is home from his naval career because of a broken arm. Edward is an officer in the army, fighting in the colonies. George is generally at home because he is the heir and he is too valuable to put himself in danger in the army or navy. That is an irritant in George's life.Billie has become her father's surrogate on the estate. She monitors crops, keeps track of the tenants, in short, she manages the estate. She loves what she does. She considers herself to be a woman who will never be what is expected of young women. Her life is as she wants it.This is a story of family. The Bridgertons and Rokesbys are very close. It is almost as though they are one very large and happy family. There is a great deal of humor and love and warmth in this group. The story is also of a blossoming relationship. Billie and George begin to spend more time together and they begin to learn more about one another. The first scene, when they both end up stranded on a roof, is a prime example of their life long relationship. But, slowly things begin to change. There is humor in this book. There is always humor in Ms Quinn's books. She writes delightful characters and charming plots. In this story, the reader gets to meet many secondary characters. Some of them are amusing and some of them are strange. All of them add a great deal to the story. Since this is the first book in a series, I believe we meet some of the characters who will populate the future series. I look forward to those stories.I laughed at some of this story. But, it also made me think about a society where lives are planned out because of birth order or sex of a child. There is not chance of being or doing the unexpected. And there is the fact that news traveling from other places in the world can take a very long time, no matter how important. Life was not as simple as it looked from this distance in time.As Billie and George become friends, it is obvious they are perfect for one another. He is not quite too stuffy and she is not quite so wild.I loved this book. I enjoyed getting to know the two families. Most of all, I was pleased that there is a happily ever after for two such good and honorable people.
